Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook University's volleyball team added two more student-athletes to its 2010 signing class, announced head coach Deborah Matejka-DesLauriers on Monday afternoon. Masa Balandzic (Pljevlja, Montenegro) and Kaitlin Costello (Webster, N.Y.) join Hailee Herc and Evann Slaughter as the latest Seawolves signees.

A 5'6'' setter and defensive specialist, Balandzic comes to Stony Brook after playing for Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado for the last two seasons. She averaged 8.48 assists per set while recording 1.77 digs. A great jump server, she also averaged 0.40 aces per set. "Masa will add a great dynamic to our team," said Matejka-DesLauriers. "Her versatility and experience on the junior college level will very helpful this season."

A 5'10 swing hitter, Costello plays for VolleyFX/Mystery club team and Our Lady of Mercy high school. An All-Greater Rochester first team selection in 2009, she is a solid all-around player says coach Matejka-DesLauriers. "Kaitlin has the talent and ability to compete right away for a starting position. She will have to adjust to the speed of the college game, but she knows the game very well."
