Cambridge, Mass. - Sophomore Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) of the Stony Brook women's tennis team has been named the first America East Peformer of the Week for 2013, the conference announced on Tuesday.

The reigning conference rookie of the year helped the Seawolves to a victory at No. 1 doubles and dropped only one game at No. 2 singles, leading SBU to a 6-1 win over Connecticut.

Stony Brook is back in action on Saturday against nationally-ranked Columbia at 10 a.m.
