#Seawolves roll past Albany, NJIT

The Stony Brook women's tennis team cruised to wins over Albany and NJIT to move to 10-3 on the season. The Seawolves blanked the Great Danes 6-0 and topped the Highlanders, 6-1.
Stony Brook earned the doubles point against Albany with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of juniors Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) and Cassandra Dix (Northamptonshire, U.K.) won 8-4 at No. 2 and freshman Nadia Smergut (New York, N.Y.) and sophomore Becky Shtilkind (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded an 8-4 win at No. 3.
The Seawolves dominated singles play, winning all five matches in straight sets. Smergut beat Paulina Torres, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4. Sophomore Jackie AltanSarnai (Hinsdale, Ill.) beat Mirielle Hermans, 7-6, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
The same pair of doubles teams helped Stony Brook capture the doubles point.
Movchan rallied past Ksenia Kuzmenko in a three-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Shtilkind won 6-4, 7-6 at No. 6 singles.
The Seawolves will host Binghamton and Hartford this Friday at University Courts at 9 a.m.
