Women's tennis defeats St. John's, 4-3

Flushing, N.Y. - Junior Lisa Seyton's (Paris, France) win at No. 6 singles clinched a 4-3 victory over St. John's in women's tennis action on Friday at the National Tennis Center. Seyton defeated Gvantsa Robakidze, 6-3, 6-3. The Seawolves were down 1-0 entering singles play, but the Seawolves won in straight sets in the first three flights to take a 3-1 lead. Seyton's victory was her third of the season in dual matches. Stony Brook's win at No. 2 doubles was captured by freshmen Louise Badoche (Paris, France) and Jackie Altansarnai (Hinsdale, Ill.). Altansarnai won her singles match, 6-4, 6-1. Senior Nini Lagvilava (Tbilsi, Georgia) and sophomore Polina Movchan (Kiev, Ukraine) won at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. The Seawolves will be back in action on March 27 for their first home dual match of the season against ASA College at 2 p.m. Stony Brook 4, St. John's
