Chris Brandenberger has been promoted to interim head coach of the Stony Brook swimming and diving program, Director of Athletics Jim Fiore announced Monday. Brandenberger, who joined Stony Brook in 2010 as an assistant coach, will oversee all aspects of the program.

The Stony Brook swimming and diving teams closed out the 2011-12 season on Sunday at the America East Championship meet with a fourth-place finish on the men's side and a fifth-place finish on the women's side. Host Boston University captured both the men's and women's championships.
