Swimming & Diving Posts Seven Top-10 Finishes on Day Two of America East Championships
Feb. 26, 2010 Boston, Mass. - Seven top-10 finishes highlighted day two for Stony Brook's swimming & diving teams on Friday at the America East Championships hosted by Boston University. Junior Lukasz Ochmanski (Lodz, Poland) led the men's team with a fourth-place finish in the 500 free (4:33.89). Sophomore Zackery Good (Columbus, Ind.) took 10th in a time of 4:39.94 in the same event. Freshman Ivan Kopas (Kikinda, Serbia) placed sixth in the 200 IM (1:52.53) and junior Matt McCort (Commack, N.Y.) finished 12th, touching four seconds later. Also scoring for the men were sophomore Sean Conway (Bellmore, N.Y.), junior Christopher Olwell (Floral Park, N.Y.) and freshman David White (Flemington, N.J.). Conway took sixth (21.21), Olwell placed 11th (21.84) and White finished 14th (21.99) in the 50-yard freestyle. Capping the night for the men's team was a fourth-place finish in the 200 free relay. The women's team had a trio of finishers score in the 50 free. Freshman Renee Rosenkranz (Dover Plains, N.Y.) placed seventh in a time of 23.75. Sophomore Darcy Heuser (Centerville, Ohio) (24.37) and freshman MaryKate Morcerf (Babylon, N.Y.) (24.53) took 10th and tied for 11th, respectively. Junior Megan Furrer (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and sophomore Shanna Murphy (Chester, N.Y.) also scored in the 3-meter dive. Day three of the Championships begins at 10 am on Saturday.
