Boston, Mass. - Stony Brook's swimming & diving teams each competed in two relay events to begin the 2010 America East Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Boston University on Thursday.

The women's squad finished fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay and fourth in the 200 medley. The foursome of freshman Christie Bodden (Panama City, Panama), senior Jessica Peters (Chicopee, Mass.), freshman Julie Policht (Toronto, Ontario) and freshman Renee Rosenkranz (Dover Plains, N.Y.) posted a season-high time of 1:45.27 for the Seawolves.

The men's team recorded a pair of fourth-place finishes on day one. The 800 relay, consisting of freshman David White (Flemington, N.J.), sophomore Zackery Good (Columbus, Ind.), junior Sean Clarke (Bellmore, N.Y.) and junior Lukasz Ochmanski (Lodz, Poland) touched the wall in a time of 7:04.59. SBU's 200 medley relay posted a 1:34.84.

After day one, the women's team is in fifth place and the men's team is in fourth.

Friday's events begin at 10 am.
