Stony Brook head softball coach Megan Bryant has announced the signing of five talented high school student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Monday. Amber Davis, Chelsea Evans, Maddy Neales, Caroline Seeberg and Ileana Torres will join the Seawolves in the Fall of 2014.

"We are excited to welcome Amber, Chelsea, Maddy, Caroline and Ileana and their families to Stony Brook. All five student-athletes are committed to academic and athletic success and have great personalities. We look forward to seeing this class on campus this fall."

Amber Davis
  • IF/C from Ramona, Calif. and Ramona HS
  • Hit .450 in 2013 and was named Offensive Player Of The Year
  • First Team All-Valley League and San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic team
  • Plays travel ball for the San Diego Legacy and coach Ken Weimer
  • Daughter of Sheila and Ken Davis
"Amber is versatile defensively, has a sure glove and can really swing the bat. She plays the game with great energy and intensity.  Amber is a great addition to our infield and will be a run producer in our line-up."

Chelsea Evans
  • IF from Merced Calif. and Merced HS
  • As a junior, hit .404 with a .685 slugging percentage, 24 RBIs and 3 HRs
  • Named League MVP two straight years and was the Sun Star Co-Player of the Year in 2013
  • Plays travel ball for the Tri County Smash and coach Donnie Donaldson
  • Daughter of Jeanette and Mike Evans
"Chelsea is a very talented infielder with all the skills and great athleticism.  She has good power potential and a high softball IQ.  We look for her to make an immediate impact in our infield."

Maddy Neales
  • Pitcher from Orange, Calif. and El Modena HS
  • Led team to a 17-11 record and a berth in the CIF playoffs
  • Second team All-League
  • Team captain is a three-time Scholar-Athlete
  • Plays travel ball for the Riptide Gold 
  • Daughter of Lisa Menen and Scott Neales
"Maddy's skills have been honed in a highly competitive league in Southern California - one of the best in the country - and she knows how to pitch and compete.  Maddy is strong, mentally tough and can spin the ball really well."

Caroline Seeberg
  • 1B/OF from Warwick, N.Y. and Warwick Valley HS
  • Led team with a .984 fielding percentage in 2013. Hit .313 and led the team in doubles and RBIs
  • Also an accomplished tennis player as she and her partner won the Section IX Doubles title this fall
  • A Scholar-Athlete Award winner in three sports (softball, tennis, basketball)
  • In the top 15% of her class at Warwick HS
  • Plays travel ball for the Frozen Ropes Force Gold and coach Tony Abbatine
  • Daughter of Patty Monteleone and John Seeberg
"Caroline is a gritty, smart and versatile player who can help us out at first and in the outfield. With her work ethic, I believe Caroline's game is going to soar when she gets into a college environment."

Ileana Torres
  • OF/IF from Debary, Fla. and University HS
  • Led team to the District 3A Championship, batting .478 with a .514 on base percentage and 28 runs scored
  • First Team All-Area and team MVP
  • Scholar-Athlete Award in 2012 and 2013
  • Plays travel ball for the Central Florida Blazers and coach Lauren Crandell
  • Daughter of Ana and Miguel Torres
"Ileana is an exciting player with great speed and an unbelievable arm. Her ability to get down the line and make things happen on the base paths will be fun to watch.  She covers a lot of ground in the outfield and has the skills to challenge for a spot immediately."
