Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Stony Brook head softball coach Megan Bryant has announced the signing of five talented high school student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Monday. Amber Davis, Chelsea Evans, Maddy Neales, Caroline Seeberg and Ileana Torres will join the Seawolves in the Fall of 2014.
"We are excited to welcome Amber, Chelsea, Maddy, Caroline and Ileana and their families to Stony Brook. All five student-athletes are committed to academic and athletic success and have great personalities. We look forward to seeing this class on campus this fall."
"Amber is versatile defensively, has a sure glove and can really swing the bat. She plays the game with great energy and intensity. Amber is a great addition to our infield and will be a run producer in our line-up."
"Chelsea is a very talented infielder with all the skills and great athleticism. She has good power potential and a high softball IQ. We look for her to make an immediate impact in our infield."
"Maddy's skills have been honed in a highly competitive league in Southern California - one of the best in the country - and she knows how to pitch and compete. Maddy is strong, mentally tough and can spin the ball really well."
"Caroline is a gritty, smart and versatile player who can help us out at first and in the outfield. With her work ethic, I believe Caroline's game is going to soar when she gets into a college environment."
"Ileana is an exciting player with great speed and an unbelievable arm. Her ability to get down the line and make things happen on the base paths will be fun to watch. She covers a lot of ground in the outfield and has the skills to challenge for a spot immediately."
