Cambridge, Mass. - After a week full of standout performances, the Stony Brook softball team swept the final America East weekly awards, the conference announced Monday. Sophomore Bria Green (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) was named the America East Player of the Week, sophomore Allison Cukrov (Irvine, Calif.) was named the Pitcher of the Week and freshman Melissa Phelan (Saddle Brook, N.J.) was named Rookie of the Week.

All three players were instrumental in helping Stony Brook (31-22) post a perfect 6-0 record last week. The Seawolves swept a doubleheader against BIG EAST foe Seton Hall on Wednesday, and then defeated Iona by a 7-2 score on Thursday. Stony Brook then earned its first-ever three-game sweep of Boston University over the weekend to end the regular season on a six-game winning streak.

Green hit .471 (8-for-17) with a home run, five doubles and six RBI last week, while slugging a robust .941. Six of Green's eight hits went for extra bases and three of Green's hits proved to be game-winning knocks. On Wednesday against Seton Hall, Green delivered a first-inning RBI double that proved to be the difference in a 4-0 win. In Saturday's opener against BU, Green doubled in two runs in the bottom of the sixth to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead. Green then smacked a two-run homer to open the scoring on Sunday against the Terriers as Stony Brook capped the weekend with an 8-0 victory.

Cukrov dominated in the circle last week, posting a 3-0 record with a 0.35 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 20 innings. Cukrov also picked up a save on Saturday against BU with a 1-2-3 seventh inning to seal a 5-4 win. The Irvine, Calif. native struck out seven in a complete-game shutout of Seton Hall on Wednesday, before fanning a season-high 10 batters in the series opener against the Terriers. Cukrov then came back on Sunday and shut down the BU offense once again in a five-inning shutout win.

Phelan hit .500 (3-for-6) last week and blasted the game-winning, pinch-hit, two-run home run against BU in the sixth inning on Saturday. The Seawolves trailed 4-3 before Phelan entered the game and launched her first-career home run to left-center. Phelan also went 1-for-3 with an RBI double on Thursday vs. Iona and went 1-for-2 with a run in Sunday's 8-0 win against BU. Phelan slugged 1.167 and recorded a .571 on-base percentage.

The Seawolves will travel to Vestal, N.Y. this week for the 2013 America East Tournament. The No. 4 seed, Stony Brook will face No. 1 Albany on Thursday at 1 p.m.
