Stony Brook, N.Y. - Winners of five straight and 11 of their last 13, the Stony Brook softball team will host Quinnipiac on Thursday for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. The Seawolves have won seven consecutive non-conference games.

Stony Brook

Heading into April with a record of 17-15, Stony Brook is playing some of its best softball of the season. The Seawolves rank 15th in the nation in fielding percentage at .974 and lead the America East as well. In the circle, Stony Brook has allowed two runs or less in 12 of its last 13 games, lowering its team ERA to 3.34. The Seawolves have also hit well recently, posting a .331 batting average in five games last week. Sophomore Shayla Giosia (Runnemede, N.J.) hit .467 and knocked in seven runs last week en route to America East Player of the Week accolades.

Quinnipiac

The Bobcats enter with a 7-19 record after splitting a doubleheader against Monmouth last Friday. Quinnipiac has faced two other America East opponents this year and has posted a 1-2 record with a split against Maine and a loss to Boston University. Quinnipiac is led by catcher Jordan Paolucci, who has six homers and 22 RBI to go along with a .289 batting average. In the circle, Hannah Lindsley paces the team with 59.1 innings pitched and a 4.13 ERA.
