Preview: The Stony Brook softball team will conclude a four-game road swing at Fairfield Thursday.  The Seawolves, who won both games of a doubleheader over UMBC, 3-2 and 2-1, to move to 4-1 in America East, have reached .500 for the first time this season.

Opponent: Fairfield, which is in the midst of a nine-game losing streak, is led offensively by Kristen Filicia, who's batting .405 with 17 hits.  She also leads the team in on-base percentage (.510).  The Stags are batting .229 in 15 games.  Rebecca Trott and Rae Ball each have started six games.  Both have ERAs over six, and Ball has recorded both of the wins.

Series: Since joining Division I in 2000, the Seawolves are 9-13 against the Stags.  Stony Brook and Fairfield have played every year since 2000.  The Seawolves have won four straight in the series, including three victories by one run.  In last year's game, sophomore Alexandra Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) had a walk-off single to lift the Seawolves to a 2-1 win.  Junior Allison Cukrov (Irvine, Calif.) pitched an inning in relief for the victory.

Up Next: Stony Brook will return to America East play with a three-game series against Hartford on Saturday and Sunday.  Game one of Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m.
