Stony Brook, N.Y. - Softball will open the home portion of its 2013 schedule this weekend when it hosts the Stony Brook Invitational. The Seawolves will welcome Manhattan, Holy Cross, Providence and Yale to University Field and will open the competition Friday against the Bulldogs at 11:30 a.m.

Stony Brook

After playing four tournaments on the road, the Seawolves (7-13) will make their home debut this weekend. Through 20 games, sophomore Bria Green (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) leads the team with a .407 average, three homers and 13 RBI. Junior Christine Lucido (Melville, N.Y.) continues to shine in the circle with a 5-1 record and a 3.07 ERA in 43.1 innings pitched.

Tournament Field

Manhattan (3-4) has won three of its last four games after starting the season 0-3. The Jaspers swept local rival St. John's on Wednesday with a pair of walk-off wins, and also defeated America East foe Hartford earlier this year. Kate Bowen leads Manhattan with two homers and eight RBI to go along with a .346 average.

Following a trip to Seattle earlier this week, Yale (2-6) returns to the Northeast for the second time this season. In its previous Northeast action, Yale lost a pair of games to Central Connecticut, before rebounding with victories over Ohio and New Mexico at a tournament hosted by the University of Washington. Sarah Onorato leads the Bulldogs with two homers and four RBI.

Providence (6-11) will be playing its first games in the Northeast this weekend after playing its first 15 games of the year in Florida. The Friars have lost four of their last five games with the lone victory coming against BYU last weekend. Sarah Kitterman paces Providence with three homers and 11 RBI to along with a .308 average.

Stony Brook will not face Holy Cross (3-7) this weekend.
