Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team is ranked eighth in the Northeast Region in the latest poll from Soccer Buzz Magazine released Tuesday. The Seawolves were ranked 11th in the previous poll.

Stony Brook has won three in a row and is unbeaten over its last nine games after defeating Albany 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Seawolves currently sit in first-place in the America East, one point better than Boston University.

Sophomore goalkeeper Marisa Viola (Cutchogue, N.Y) and the Seawolves defense have posted eight straight shutouts and not allowed a goal in 814:38, the 12th longest streak in Division I women's history.

The Seawolves return to action on Thursday, traveling to take on Binghamton at 7 p.m.
