Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team edged the Japanese All-Star Touring team by a 3-1 score on Wednesday to remain unbeaten in the spring season. Sophomore Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) accounted for all three of the Seawolves' goals in the match.

After a pair of positive results last weekend in Boston, Mass., the Seawolves again came out strong in their first home game of the spring. The team built a 3-0 lead through Nysch, before the Japanese squad pulled one back late in the second half.

Following the match, the teams exchanged gifts as a gesture of good will and friendship.

Composed of players from all over Japan, the visitors arrived in New York City on Monday in preparation for Wednesday's exhibition. The players and coaching staff took in some of the sights and sounds of the Big Apple, including trying New York pizza and hot dogs. The Japanese team will also face Hofstra, American International College and UMass on its American tour, before returning home next week.

Stony Brook will continue its spring season on April 14 at the NJIT Spring Tournament against Sacred Heart and Wagner.
