Box Score

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team (5-1-1) maintained it's perfect home record on Thursday with a 2-1, come-from-behind victory over Wagner in a match that lasted four hours and 22 minutes due to a prolonged weather delay.

Senior Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) scored her fifth goal of the season to tie the match at 1-1 in the 53rd minute, before sophomore Stella Norman (Lakewood, Colo.) netted the game-winner just 2:06 later on a free kick.

Coach Sue Ryan's Reaction

"In order to be successful, you have to win in many different environments and overcome many different obstacles and hurdles. Tonight was an example of that. Tonight, we warmed up, then waited, then came back out again. The fact that we were able to come back and score two goals and keep our energy and tempo up is a very positive thing for our team."

• Wagner (4-1-1) struck first at 7:52 when Alyssa Azzinaro crossed the ball in front of the net to Sydney McCarthy, who slotted a first-time finish by Seawolves keeper Ashley Castanio (Oceanside, N.Y.).

• Stony Brook took the lead for good just over two minutes later when Norman blasted a free kick over the Wagner keeper from 30 yards out.
