Aug. 24, 2012
Staten Island, N.Y. - Freshmen Priscilla Wiggins (Princeton, N.J.) and Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) netted their first collegiate goals on Friday to help the Stony Brook women's soccer team earn its first victory of the season with a 3-1 win at Wagner.
"It's always great to get the first win, especially on the road. A lot of credit goes to our freshman class as they are really playing above their years right now. They have impacted our lineup quicker than we expected and it's really great to have so many players we can use with confidence on the field."
-- Head Coach Sue Ryan
With the game tied, 1-1, midway through the second half, Stony Brook scored two goals within 63 seconds to go ahead for good.
• Wagner struck first just before the half-hour mark when Jackie Nicholas scored off a Monica Zurich feed
