Staten Island, N.Y. - Freshmen Priscilla Wiggins (Princeton, N.J.) and Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) netted their first collegiate goals on Friday to help the Stony Brook women's soccer team earn its first victory of the season with a 3-1 win at Wagner.

Turning Point

With the game tied, 1-1, midway through the second half, Stony Brook scored two goals within 63 seconds to go ahead for good.

• Wagner struck first just before the half-hour mark when Jackie Nicholas scored off a Monica Zurich feed
• Wiggins equalized with just 0.7 seconds remaining in the first half, taking a pass from freshman Danielle Fuller (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sending it by the onrushing Wagner keeper
• Edwards potted the game-winner with just over 25 minutes remaining in regulation, taking a feed from junior Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) and tucking the ball inside the left post from the center of the box
• Senior Sa'sha Kershaw (Baltimore, Md.) then made it 3-1 just 1:03 later, receiving a pass from freshman Tessa Devereaux (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and blasting a shot inside the left post from nearly 25 yards out

• The freshman class accounted for two goals and two assists on Friday (goals by Wiggins and Edwards, assists by Devereaux and Fuller)
• Seawolves' keeper Ashley Castanio (Oceanside, N.Y.) made two stops and earned her first collegiate win
• Stony Brook held a 12-8 edge in shots, including a 10-3 margin in attempts on goal
• The Seawolves attempted four corner kicks compared to just one for Wagner
• Senior Taryn Schoenbeck (Newark, Del.) led the Seawolves with three shots

Noteworthy

• Fuller, a Staten Island native, marked a triumphant return home with her first collegiate point, an assist on Wiggins' first-half tally
• The Seawolves already have five assists in three games this season; last year, Stony Brook had seven total assists in 17 games
