2013 ILWomen.com Preseason All-Americans

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior attacker Claire Petersen (Wantagh, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team has been named a preseason All-American by ILWomen.com.

Petersen was placed on the preseason All-America third team. She was one of three players from America East to earn the preseason All-America nod. This comes on the heels of ILWomen.com also releasing its preseason poll, which included Stony Brook at No. 18.

Stony Brook's first-ever All-American in 2012 when she was named to the IWLCA All-America third team, Petersen returns to the Seawolves after a historic junior year in which she set the program record for single-season assists (59) and points (101). She finished the year second in the entire nation in points, points per game (5.94), assists and assists per game (3.47).

In addition to her All-American honor, Petersen was named the 2012 America East Player of the Year.

Petersen will enter the 2013 season ranked third all-time in program history in career assists and ninth in career points.
