Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman midfielder Dorrien Van Dyke of the No. 17/16 Stony Brook women's lacrosse team led the conference in nearly every offensive category on her way to America East Rookie of the Week honors. The #Seawolves have claimed six weekly accolades and have garnered at least one in five of the first six weeks of the season.

Van Dyke topped the league in points (17), points per game (8.5), goals (9), assists (8) and assists per game (4) as SBU beat Iona and Siena by double-digit margins last week.

After putting up eight points on four goals and four assists at Iona Thursday, Van Dyke posted a school freshman-record with nine points on five goals and four helpers against Siena Saturday. The output tied her with multiple former players for fifth-most in single-game program history and most by a player other than former All-American Claire Petersen. She led the Seawolves in assists and points in both contests and added a team-high four draw controls in Saturday's 19-6 triumph over the Saints.

A Northport, N.Y., native, Van Dyke has put up astonishing numbers since stashing away five goals in her debut Feb. 15 against Bucknell. She entered the week second nationally in goals and goals per game and now has 42 points and 32 goals on the season. She needs six goals to move into the top 10 of the Stony Brook's single-season goals list.

The defending conference champions open America East play at home against UMBC Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission is free, and the Seawolves will sign autographs after the game.
