Women's hoops returns home to face Sacred Heart

Stony Brook, N.Y. - After finishing 2-2 on their recent four-game road trip, the Stony Brook women's basketball team will return home Tuesday to face Sacred Heart at 7 p.m. Last Time Out Stony Brook fell to Youngstown State on Friday by a 76-43 score. The Penguins held the Seawolves to just 28.3% shooting, while hitting 13 three-pointers. Senior Jessica Previlon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led Stony Brook with 13 points and six rebounds in the defeat. Sacred Heart The Pioneers are off to a 4-3 start to the season with victories over Sam Houston State, St. Peter's, Colgate and an impressive win over ACC foe Boston College. Sophomore guard Gabriell Washington leads SHU with 16.1 points per game, while Kiley Evans averages 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest. Series History Sacred Heart leads the all-time series, 11-4, including a 4-3 mark at Pritchard Gym. Last year, the Pioneers defeated the Seawolves, 55-33, in Fairfield, Conn. Previlon had five points and nine rebounds to lead SBU in the game. De-fense! Stony Brook is 3-0 this season when holding opponents under 60 points this season. Conversely, the Seawolves are 0-3 when opponents score 60+ points in a game. Options Galore Stony Brook has used a very deep bench this season with nine players averaging at least 15+ minutes per game. The Seawolves have scored more bench points than their opponents in five of six games this year.
