Piscataway, N.J. - The Stony Brook women's basketball team trailed by seven points early in the second half, but Rutgers' full-court pressure, height and athleticism helped the Scarlet Knights coast to a 72-44 win on Friday at the Rutgers Athletic Center.

Turning Point

• After closing the first half on a 13-6 run, the Seawolves (7-5) trailed by just seven at the break at 32-25. But the Scarlet Knights (8-3) came out firing on all cylinders in the second stanza, using a 17-3 run to go up 49-31. Rutgers' full-court pressure and athleticism presented problems for Stony Brook as the Scarlet Knights outrebounded SBU 38-26 and forced 28 turnovers.

The Numbers Game

• Stony Brook shot 31.1% (14-for-45), while Rutgers shot 51.9% (27-for-52).
• Rutgers converted 16-of-22 free throws (72.7%), while the Seawolves hit 10-of-16 (62.5%).
• The Seawolves forced 22 Rutgers turnovers.
• Junior Teasha Harris (Bloomington, Ill.) scored 11 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
• Senior Dani Klupenger (Aurora, Ore.) knocked down three three-pointers to finish with nine points.
• Senior Jessica Previlon (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led SBU with eight rebounds.
• Junior Latasia Ward (Bronx, N.Y.) scored a season-high four points in four minutes off the bench.
• Monique Oliver led Rutgers with 14 points and nine rebounds.

• Prior to this week, Harris' season-high was eight points. She had 17 on Wednesday against St. Francis and 11 tonight against Rutgers.
• Previlon led the Seawolves in rebounding for the eighth time this season.
• Rutgers entered the game receiving votes in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today polls.

The Seawolves close out the 2012 calendar year against Iona on Sunday, Dec. 30 at Pritchard Gym at 2 p.m. The matchup will be Stony Brook's final non-conference game of the season.
