Stony Brook, N.Y. - Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the third and final fall edition of the Coach's Corner, a monthly newsletter to keep you informed and up-to-date on Stony Brook Tennis!

Our busy fall season concluded with the women competing at the Brown Invitational and the men finished up at the ITA Regionals at Yale. In Providence, RI Erica Federgreen '09 and Gayatri Krishnan '11 took top honors as they each won all three of their singles matches. Krishnan registered wins over players from Syracuse, Brown and Rhode Island. Federgreen recorded two wins over Army and a win against Rhode Island. They also played some impressive doubles together and swept all three of their matches.

The ITA Regional tournament was held in New Haven, CT at Yale University this year. Ivan Rummel '11 turned in the best performance by a Seawolf in four years, as he reached the round of 16. Rummel entered the tournament as a seeded player and received a first round bye. After recording a win over U Penn in the 2nd round, Ivan went on to defeat Penn State in the round of 32. In the round of 16 he fell to the eventual finalist from Columbia. Overall, it was a very successful season and we have built a solid foundation as we look toward the spring campaign.

Don't let the holiday season pass by without getting that special someone in your life a Stony Brook Tennis shirt! This year's t-shirt promotion includes a long sleeve and short sleeve option. In exchange for an official Seawolves shirt we are asking that you make a PAWS contribution of your choice to the tennis program. Click here to view t-shirt designs. Please get your orders in soon as I will be at the ITA Coach's Convention in December. And I would like to thank all of our friends who have already contributed so generously to this year's P.A.W.S campaign.

Our spring season kicks off in February as the men head to Yale on the 7th. The men and women will travel to Colgate on February 14th. For the complete schedule please visit our web site at www.goseawolves.org.

Please mark your calendars for Saturday March 21, 2009. That will be the date of our 3rd Annual FunFest. Until then, Happy Holidays and we'll see you on the other side of the net!
