Joining Gary Glassman's staff for the 2007-08 season as an assistant coach is Rob Nunnery. He will assist Glassman with all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the tennis program.
Nunnery brings a number of years of experience as a tennis professional to the Seawolf program. Prior to arriving at Stony Brook he served as a private coach in Scotland where he tutored one of the top-10 players in that country. He also served as the Director of Tennis at Peter Burwash International in Beijing, China where he was responsible for managing the tennis center, court maintenance, organizing lessons and directing the marketing efforts of the resort's tennis programs. Nunnery has also worked at other tennis facilities in North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia and Alabama, totaling five years of experience.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina-Asheville with a B.A. in mass communication, Nunnery was a two-time first team All-Big South player for the Bulldogs. Playing at No. 1 singles and doubles he was named the team captain his final two seasons, compiling a 70-25 singles record and a 52-31 doubles mark. He was also twice selected as UNC-Asheville's student-athlete of the year and was a two-time selection to the Big South All-Academic team.
