New Britain, Conn. - The Stony Brook diving team competed at the Central Connecticut State Diving Invitational on Saturday and turned in several impressive performances.

Junior Jodie Darnell (Rocklin, Calif.) placed first in the three-meter dive with a score of 213.75, a new season-best. Junior Molly Swartz (Grass Valley, Calif.) took third in the event (204.10), while sophomore Serra Czapla (Glastonbury, Conn.) placed fifth with 175.95.

In the men's three-meter dive, freshman Kaleim Reid (Uniondale, N.Y.) finished second with a personal-best mark of 187.65. Classmate Kyle Gannon (North Babylon, N.Y.) placed fifth, registering a score of 172.35.

In the one-meter competition, Gannon posted a season-high score of 200.45 to place second, while Czapla (201.50), Swartz (197.90) and Darnell (190.45) took second, third and fourth, respectively.

Stony Brook was one of five teams at the event, including Providence, Fairfield, Wagner and host CCSU.

The Seawolves return to action on Oct. 29 at Massachusetts at 1 p.m.
