Cambridge, Mass. - A game-winning goal against Hartford on Saturday has earned freshman Leonardo Fernandes (North Babylon, N.Y.) America East Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday. It is the second America East award for Fernandes, who leads the Seawolves with six goals and 14 points.

Fernandes is now just one goal short of tying Shane Arikian's `03 program record for goals by a freshman in Division I play.

The #2 seed in the 2009 America East Tournament, Stony Brook will await the winner of #3 Hartford and #6 Boston University to be played on November 7. The Seawolves' semifinal game is on November 11, 2009.
