2013 SCHEDULE

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Second-year head coach Jim Nagle has announced Stony Brook's 2013 men's lacrosse schedule, which includes three games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament, seven home contests at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium and 16 games overall.

"We're excited about this year's schedule," Nagle said. "By playing a competitive non-conference schedule against the nation's elite, it will have us ready for America East play, which always is challenging."

Stony Brook will open the season at home against Fairfield on February 9 in the earliest game in school history. After road games at Marist and Lafayette, the Seawolves will host national power Virginia on February 23.

The Seawolves will face back-to-back Big East schools in St. John's (February 26) and Rutgers on March 2. After a home game against Siena on March 5, Stony Brook will take on last year's national runner-up Maryland at Byrd Stadium. The contest against the Terrapins will be the first against the ACC school since 2003.

A road game at Sacred Heart on March 16 and a home contest against Bryant on March 23 will prepare SBU for the America East opener at Vermont on March 30. The Seawolves will host Binghamton (April 6) and UMBC (April 13) before a tough non-conference road game at Yale on April 15.

The regular-season schedule concludes at Hartford on April 20 and at home vs. Albany one week later.

Stony Brook will host the 2013 America East Championship. The semifinals are May 2 followed by the championship on May 4. The finals will be televised live on ESPNU at 10 a.m.

Stony Brook, which has advanced to the conference finals in each of the last four seasons, is 18-2 in America East play since 2009.

America East Rookie of the Year Mike Rooney and first team all-conference selection Jeff Tundo are among 15 returning letterwinners.
