Directions to LaValle Stadium

Stony Brook University is situated on a 1,00 acre site on the North Shore of Long Island in southeastern NY. The Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip is 16 miles from the campus and is serviced by direct flights by major airlines and commuter lines. New York City Area Airports (JFK, LaGuardia and Newark) airports are 50 miles to the west.

From the east, take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) westbound to exit 62 and follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for 8 miles. Proceed to North entrance and make left onto campus. Make a left at the top of the hill (Circle Road) and go to the first stop sign. Make a right on Stadium Road and follow until you see the stadium parking lot on your right.

From the west, take the Long Island Expressway (LIE, I-495) eastbound from the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Manhattan or the Throgs Neck Bridge or Whitestone Bridge in Queens to exit 62 and follow Nicolls Road (Route 97) north for 8 miles. Proceed to North entrance and make left onto campus. Make a left at the top of the hill (Circle Road) and go to the first stop sign. Make a right on Stadium Road and follow until you see the stadium parking lot on your right.

Car ferries cross Long Island Sound at Bridgeport, Connecticut to Port Jefferson, Long Island Take Route 25A west to Nicolls Road, the University entrances are the first 3 intersections you come to. From New London, Connecticut to Orient Point, Long Island Take Route 25A west to Nicolls Road. Make left onto Nicolls Road and then make your first right onto campus (North Entrance). Make a left at the top of the hill (Circle Road) and go to the first stop sign. Make a right on Stadium Road and follow until you see the stadium parking lot on your right.

Take the Long Island Railroad's Port Jefferson line from Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan to Stony Brook. The train station is at the border of the campus and bus service to the central campus is provided. Some trains require changing at Jamaica Station and some at Huntington Station. Use the north entrance to campus. Make a left at the top of the hill (Circle Road) and go to the first stop sign. Make a right on Stadium Road and follow until you see the stadium parking lot on your right.
