Oakville, Ontario - Former Stony Brook men's lacrosse standout JJ Laforet '13 was drafted 42nd overall by the Minnesota Swarm of the National Lacrosse League Monday night.

Laforet played in 47 games for Stony Brook, tallying 116 ground balls and 33 caused turnovers. As a senior, he finished with 31 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers despite playing in only eight games, earning second team All-America East honors.

The Georgetown, Ontario, who scored four goals apiece as a junior and a senior, will play defense after starring as a long-stick midfielder for the Seawolves.

Laforet will join former Seawolves Kyle Belton, Kevin Crowley, Rhys Duch and Jordan McBride in the NLL.
