Men's lacrosse tops Siena to win third straight
March 5, 2013
Stony Brook, N.Y. - Freshman Brody Eastwood (Victoria, British Columbia) scored a career-high five goals to lead the Stony Brook men's lacrosse team to an 11-9 win over Siena at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Tuesday. The Seawolves (4-2) have won three straight games and will take on No. 1 Maryland Sunday at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Eastwood, who has three hat tricks this season, tallied three of his five goals in the first half, including two on man-up situations. Sophomore Mike Rooney (East Islip, N.Y.) and senior Jeff Tundo (Orchard Park, N.Y.) each posted two goals and an assist. Freshman Challen Rogers (Coquitlam, British Columbia) tallied three assists for a second straight game. Richie Hurley had three goals and Nate Barry added two goals and two assists for Siena (1-4). Coach Jim Nagle's Reaction "All in all, I thought this was a well-played March game. Siena is an offensively-potent squad, so to be able to hold them to nine goals is good to see. I'm excited to be 4-2, considering the stretch of games we've played, but we still need to improve a number of things. We're going to get ready and have some fun playing Maryland on Sunday."
