Stony Brook, N.Y. - After a long week for everyone involved in this program and on Long Island, it was nice to have a game and try to get people's mind off the storm for a little while. I was very happy with our team's ability to focus during the week. We've handled different types of adversity this season, but obviously this week was a little strange.

I thought we came out against VMI with the right intensity, especially on defense. Offensively, we did what we do well, which is the run the ball. We called nine of ten straight runs to start the game because we wanted to establish our attack with the wind in our face. I thought our balance of run to pass made us even more efficient as the game progressed.

If there was a negative, it was the number of penalties and the point at which they happened, but that's part of football, and we've done the necessary things to correct them.

Liberty is an opponent we have a tremendous amount of respect for as a program. They have been successful against us at their place, so it's going to be a challenge which this team is excited to embrace.

We're going to play Stony Brook football. We're going to play this game as if it's a playoff game. I said this many times - if you prepare correctly, Saturday's take care of themselves.

We've played 10 straight weeks plus four weeks of preseason, so it's been 14 weeks of preparation for tomorrow. We're remarkably healthy and plugging along and ready to face a great opponent in Liberty.

Get Your RED On, It's What WE Do!
