Mike Iafrate is back for a third season on the Stony Brook football staff where he will work with the tight ends this season. In his first two seasons with the Seawolves he helped the offensive line block for a potent SBU ground game, one that produced a pair of 1,000-yard rushers and rank among the top-10 in the nation in 2008. The unit also ranked among the national leaders in fewest sacks allowed.

Iafrate joined the Stony Brook staff right out of college, coming to the Seawolves after graduating from Davidson College with a bachelor's degree in anthropology with an education concentration. At Davidson he started all but one game during his four-year career, earning Mid-Major All-America honors twice. A three-time Academic Honor Roll honoree, he was also named an All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Iafrate lives in Middle Island, New York with his wife Jamie.
