Michael Derice joined the Stony Brook football staff as the Director of Football Operations in August of 2009. Derice has been a part of the Stony Brook athletics family since he first enrolled as a student-athlete on the football team in 2005. Most recently he has spent the last year as the Special Assistant to the Athletics Director for the Seawolves, a role that saw him assist with facility projects, serve as the visiting team liaison for football and basketball as well as assisting with the day-to-day operations of the athletics department. Derice has also been a coach at the Joe Namath Camp in Connecticut for the past three years. A 2008 graduate of Stony Brook with a B.S. in health care management, Derice lettered twice for the Seawolves in football as a defensive back. He is currently working on his Master's degree at SBU in human resource management. Derice graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School where he was a first team all-borough and all-city selection in 2003 and 2004. |
