Men's hoops wins sixth straight after shooting past Albany


The Stony Brook men's basketball team shot a blistering 59.1 percent in the second half and had four players score in double figures to come back and beat Albany 76-69 to remain in sole possession of first place in America East Saturday night at SEFCU Arena. Stony Brook has won six straight games and 12 of its last 13.

The Stony Brook men's basketball team has been the subject of blog posts on national college basketball websites this week. CBSSports.com's "Eye on College Basketball Blog" and ESPN.com's "College Basketball Nation Blog" highlighted the team's string of success and welcomed the return of junior Tommy Brenton.

Men's hoops lights it up from 3, routs Binghamton, 82-48


The Stony Brook men's basketball team broke its Div. I program record for three-pointers in a game with 14 as the Seawolves routed Binghamton 82-48 Wednesday night at Pritchard Gymnasium to extend its home winning streak to 12 games. The Seawolves were led by sophomore Anthony Jackson, who had 14 points off the bench and was 4-for-8 from the three-point line.

Men's hoops wraps up three-game homestand vs. Binghamton


The Stony Brook men's basketball team, winners of 11 consecutive home games, look to make it a dozen straight at Pritchard Wednesday against the Binghamton Bearcats. The game will be televised on Optimum Local Channel 118.

Men's hoops draws Northeastern in BracketBusters


The Stony Brook men's basketball team will play at Northeastern on Saturday, Feb. 18 after drawing the Huskies in the annual Sears ESPN BracketBusters event. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Matthews Arena. This will be the first meeting between these two teams since March 5, 2005, when the two teams both competed in America East.
