Stony Brook, N.Y. - The America East Conference has released its 2012-13 conference schedule, completing the Stony Brook men's basketball team's 29-game regular season slate. Stony Brook's schedule now includes 16 America East Conference games, 13 non-conference contests and 12 games that will be played on campus at Pritchard Gymnasium.

The previously released non-conference schedule's marquee game will be a Nov. 13 contest against Rider, which will be nationally televised on ESPN at 6 a.m. as part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. The slate also includes matchups with BIG EAST teams Connecticut (Nov. 25) and Seton Hall (Dec. 28) and ACC member Maryland (Dec. 21).

Stony Brook will open the season Nov. 11 against Mount Ida at Pritchard Gymnasium. Among the other opponents will be the Northeast Conference's Sacred Heart (Nov. 18 and Dec. 18), Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 15) and St. Francis (NY) (Dec. 11), the Ivy League's Cornell (Nov. 28), the Ohio Valley Conference's Eastern Illinois (Dec. 1) and the MAAC's Manhattan (Jan. 1).

The 16-game conference schedule begins Jan. 5 with a home game against New Hampshire. It will be followed by a Jan. 9 road game at Binghamton. The Seawolves then welcome Hartford and Boston University to Pritchard Gym Jan. 12 and Jan. 15, respectively.

Friday, Jan. 18 will serve as a rematch with defending America East tournament champion Vermont up in Burlington, Vt. Then the Seawolves travel to UMBC on Jan. 23.

Stony Brook will play a home date with Maine on Jan. 26 before starting a three-game road stretch that takes the team to Albany (Jan. 29), New Hampshire (Feb. 2) and Hartford (Feb. 9).

The Seawolves return home on Feb. 13 to play Binghamton and start a three-game homestand. The Seawolves host Vermont on Feb. 16 and UMBC on Feb. 19.

Stony Brook wraps up the regular season Feb. 23 at Maine, Feb. 28 at Boston University and March 3 at home against Albany. It will be the third consecutive season the Seawolves will end the regular season at home.


 

 

The 2013 America East Championship will be held March 8-10 at Albany's SEFCU Arena, site of the 2009 America East Championship, and the final will be on the campus of the highest remaining seed March 16.
