Dan Rickard enters his fifth season as an assistant coach under Steve Pikiell after spending two years as the Director of Basketball Operations for both the men's and women's basketball programs. He also was an assistant to Nick Macarchuk in 2004-05.

Rickard is currently responsible for recruiting, backcourt player development, scouting, travel and academic support.

Rickard is no stranger to Stony Brook. He graduated in May of 2004 from SB after two years as a member of the men's basketball team with a degree in mathematics. The 6-3 guard appeared in 14 games in two seasons and helped the Seawolves reach the America East semifinals in 2004 after transferring from Orange County Community College where he played under his father.

After graduation, he went from wearing a uniform to wearing a suit on the bench, taking over as an assistant coach under Macarcuk. His responsibilities included traditional game day and practice duties, along with recruiting responsibilities.

Rickard lives with his wife Courtney Rickard, Stony Brook's assistant athletic director for student-athlete development.
