Parenty headlines nine All-America East honorees

Freshman Jack Parenty headlined nine Stony Brook baseball conference awards honorees as he was named 2013 America East Rookie of the Year, the conference announced on the eve of the America East Championship, held at LeLacheur Park. Parenty, junior Frankie Vanderka and junior Kevin Courtney were first-team All-America East selections.

McNitt and Parenty earn final America East weekly honors

Fresh off a winner-take-all series at Hartford that clinched the final spot in the America East Championship, the Stony Brook baseball team secured two of the three final America East weekly honors. Junior Brandon McNitt was named America East Pitcher of the Week, and freshman Jack Parenty was named America East Rookie of the Week.

Baseball beats Hartford to clinch playoff berth

Faced with a winner-take-all game on the road for the right to move on to the America East Championship, the Stony Brook baseball team, behind a fantastic effort from starting pitcher Brandon McNitt, rose to the occasion, taking advantage of seven Hartford errors and bashing 11 hits in a 10-3 victory over the Hawks Saturday at Fiondella Field. The Seawolves will play Maine Wednesday at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass., at 4 p.m.

Baseball split at Hartford sets up Saturday's winner-take-all

The Stony Brook baseball team split a doubleheader with Hartford Friday, winning game one, 2-1, and losing game two, 9-8. The split sets up a winner-take-all rubber game on Saturday for the final spot in the America East Championship.

Baseball one win away from a playoff spot

The Stony Brook baseball team is one win away from a berth into the America East Championship after taking game one of Friday's doubleheader at Hartford, 2-1. Junior Frankie Vanderka pitched his eighth complete game of the season, and sophomore Kevin Krause drove in the winning run. Game two begins at 2:30 p.m.
