Round Rock, Texas - Nick Tropeano, a former two-time America East Pitcher of the Year and second-team All-American for the #Seawolves, was named to the Pacific Coast League Triple-A All-Star team on Thursday.

Tropeano sports a 6-4 record with the Houston Astros' Triple-A affiliate, Oklahoma City RedHawks, boasting a 2.38 ERA, the third-lowest mark in the Pacific Coast League. Other statistics that highlight his dominance this season include a 4:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio and a WHIP of .95.

Tropeano suited up for the Seawolves from 2009-11, finishing his career in the top five in SBU history in career wins, strikeouts and ERA. He was drafted after his junior season in the fifth round of the First-Year Player Draft by the Houston Astros, where he has shown steady improvement from year-to-year. He spent last season in Double-A with the Corpus Christi Hooks, finishing the season 7-10 with a 4.11 ERA, but has really started to piece it together in 2014, catching baseball's attention with a hot june, which saw him go 4-0 and yield only eight runs in 35 2/3 innings.

The PCL All-Stars will take on the International League in the Cree Triple-A All-Star Game, set for Wednesday, July 16th, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina. The 27th annual matchup will be broadcast live on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network at 7 p.m. Many of baseball's brightest stars first showcased their talents to the world in the Triple-A All-Star game. With his selection, Tropeano now joins the elite company of Albert Pujols, Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Felix Hernandez and Roy Halladay, as guys who took part in the game.
