Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior right-hander Tyler Johnson, of the Stony Brook University baseball team, has been named America East Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. The Seawolves return to action on Tuesday, hosting Iona at 3:30 p.m.

Johnson went the distance in the Seawolves 2-1 eight-inning win over Binghamton on Friday as he allowed just the one run on five hits. He has an America East best 0.77 ERA this season.

It was the second time in 2012 that Johnson has earned Pitcher of the Week and the fourth time in the seven weeks the award has been given that a Stony Brook pitcher has won.

The Seawolves 2.66 team ERA is almost two runs better than any team in the America East.
