Thibodeaux, La. - Senior Evan Stecko-Haley (Coral Springs, Fla.) allowed just two hits in 8.0 shutout innings and freshman Kevin Krause (Staten Island, N.Y.) hit a two-run home run to lead the Stony Brook baseball team to a 6-0 victory over Alabama State on Saturday at the Colonel Round Robin.

Stony Brook moves to 3-0 with the win and concludes play at the Round Robin on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST against host Nicholls State.

Stecko-Haley allowed a leadoff hit in the bottom of the first before retiring 24 of the final 26 batters he faced. The senior right-hander walked just one batter and struck six.

Stony Brook jumped to a quick 1-0 lead as junior Travis Jankowski (Lancaster, Pa.) walked to lead off the game, stole second and then moved to third when the throw sailed into centerfield. He then came around to score on a sacrifice fly from senior Pat Cantwell (West Islip, N.Y.).

The Seawolves tacked on two runs in the sixth as junior Maxx Tissenbaum (Toronto, Ontario) doubled to open the inning and then came out on a one-out home run from Krause. SBU then put the game away with three unearned runs in the eighth.

Sophomore Joshua Mason (Woodland Hills, Calif.) pitched a scoreless ninth to seal the victory for the Seawolves.
