Bronx, N.Y. – Olivia Burne of the Stony Brook women’s cross country team placed on the Northeast All-Region team for the second straight year by finishing 15th in a season-best 6k time of 20:41.80 Friday afternoon at the NCAA Northeast Regional meet hosted by Manhattan College at Van Cortlandt Park.

Senior Annie Keown took 55th in 21:34.90, while freshman Elizabeth Caldwell finished the race in 22:05.80 for 84th in a field of 254 student-athletes. Senior Lorraine McCarthy clocked in at 22:09.50 and was 88th as the women tallied 359 points for a 12th-place finish out of 37 schools. 

Providence and Dartmouth were first and second, respectively, for automatic qualifiers into the NCAA Championship.

Sophomore Mitchell Kun was the top finisher for the men with a 61st-place result in 31:38.20. Junior Tyler Frigge recorded a 10k time of 31:53.40 and was 73rd out if 255 participants. Senior Daniel Denis crossed in 85th in 32:03.90, and junior Chris Sauer notched 98th in 32:15.30.


 

 

The men came in 13th out of 37 programs with 421 points, while Syracuse and Columbia took the two NCAA Championship team automatic qualifiers.
