Burne advances at NCAA Regionals

Just hours after being honored for her work on the track and in the classroom with an America East All-Academic nod, junior Olivia Burne inched closer to a trip to the NCAA Championships. She advanced in her heat in the women's 1500 meter and will compete in the quarterfinal race Saturday.

Burne achieves America East All-Academic status

Olivia Burne of the Stony Brook women's track and field team has been named to the America East All-Academic team, the league office announced Thursday.

Burne qualifies for women's track NCAA East Regionals

Junior Olivia Burne of the Stony Brook women's track team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championships in the women's 1500-meter event. Competition is slated for May 23 and 25 at North Carolina A&T College in Greensboro, N.C.

Melian wins ECAC crown in women's 3000

Freshman Christina Melian capped of what has been a tremendous freshman year by winning the ECAC crown in the women's 3000-meter in 9:48.97 Sunday at Princeton University. She held off Cornell freshman Caroline Kellner by .71 seconds for the championship win.

Burne wins America East title in 1500-meter

Track and field wraps up day one of AE Outdoor Championships

Annie Keown placed fourth and hit an ECAC qualifier when she clocked in at 35:58.10 in the women's 10000-meter run to highlight the first day of competition Saturday at the America East Outdoor Championships for the Stony Brook men's and women's track and field teams.
