Stony Brook, N.Y. - Stony Brook head cross country and track & field coach Andy Ronan has announced the hiring of former standout Hayley Green as volunteer coach. Green will assist with workouts and the overall administration of the program.

"The addition of Hayley to our staff is exciting," Ronan said. "Her racing experience at the national and conference level will be very helpful to the athletes in the program.

Green finished in the top 10 in cross country in three of her four years, winning the individual title in 2011. Her 2011 time of 16:51.5 ranks as the fifth best in Championship history. Green advanced to two NCAA Championships, finishing 33rd in 2011 en route to All-America honors.

She was a key member of a 2010 squad that finished seventh at the NCAA Championships.

A three-time all-conference selection, Green owns the America East's fifth-best time (16:28.45) in the indoor 5,000. She advanced to the NCAA East Regionals at Indiana at the end of the 2012 outdoor season, competing in the 5,000, after taking second at the America East Championships.
