Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook track and field programs will host the Wolfie Invitational Saturday, April 20 at University Track beginning at 11:30 a.m. Attendees may park in the lot adjacent to the train station.

10 squads will take part in the meet, including two fellow-America East schools in New Hampshire and Vermont. Manhattan, Marist, Sacred Heart, Fordham and NYU will also send both their men's and women's teams, while Southern Connecticut and St. John's will send their women's programs.

"'We are excited to host the first Wolfie Invitational, the first full meet in the facility," said track and field head coach Andy Ronan. "We have some quality teams attending that should make for a day of great track and field"

Stony Brook most recently competed in the Brown Invitational last weekend. Olivia Burne took first and set a new personal-best in the 800-meter, while Christina Melian nabbed second in the mile and Tyler Frigge placed third in the 3000-meter to highlight 13 top-ten finishes on the day for the Seawolves. Melian and Frigge finished first among collegiate competitors in their events.

SBU previously hosted the highly successful Quad meet with Bryant, Providence and Hartford on March 27. In the meet, Stony Brook picked up seven first-place finishes and Crystal Yeates broke the school record in the 300-meter.

The Seawolves will next compete in the Penn Relays April 25-26 in Philadelphia, Pa.
