NEW ORLEANS - Senior Olivia Burne of the Stony Brook women's track and field team has been named a second-team All-American in the mile by the USTFCCCA.

Burne placed 12th in the mile in the semifinal race of the NCAA Indoor Championships Friday night in Albuquerque, N.M. The Palmerston, New Zealand product clocked in at 4:46.94 and finished seventh in her heat in her first trip to the meet. She hit three ECAC qualifiers in the mile in 2013-14, including a personal-record time of 4:36.22 at the Boston University Last Chance Meet March 2.

Burne also tallied two ECAC-qualifying marks in the 1,000-meters and claimed the conference crown in the event. She has secured an America East title in three consecutive seasons having previously won the 2013 outdoor 1,500-meters and cross country championships.

The standout will conclude her Stony Brook career during the outdoor season, which begins at University Track March 29.
