Cambridge, Mass. - Olivia Burne has been selected to the America East All-Academic team for women's indoor track and field, conference officials announced Tuesday.

She was part of the distance medley relay squad that placed second at the America East Indoor Championships in an ECAC qualifying time of 11:57.79. At the ECACs, Burne helped the squad place ninth in the event. She also came in third in the mile at the conference championships, hitting an ECAC qualifier in the process.

Earlier this year, Burne was named the America East's Scholar-Athlete and garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades in cross country. A five time Dean's List awardee, Burne holds a cumulative grade point average of 3.94 in journalism. She is a member of Stony Brook's Society of Distinguished Scholar Athletes and has been named to the America East Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the distinction, a student-athlete must serve in a pivotal role in at least 50 percent of the team's meets, have completed at least one calendar year at his or her institution and hold a 3.30 GPA.

The Seawolves will host a quad meet March 27 to kick off their outdoor season.
