Cambridge, Mass. –After running the season’s third-fastest collegiate mile in the nation, senior Olivia Burne of the Stony Brook track and field team has been tabbed America East Performer of the Week.

The Palmerston, New Zealand native clocked in at 4:38.10 and finished third among collegiate runners at the Terrier Invite hosted by Boston University. The time bested her previous personal record by four seconds and easily hit the ECAC standard of 4:58.8. It was tops among America East runners by 10 ticks.

Burne previously qualified for the ECACs in the 1,000 when she placed first in 2:51.50 at the Saturday Night Shootout Jan. 19.

The Seawolves next compete in the Metropolitan Championships Friday.
