Stony Brook Academic Services
Stony Brook's office of Academic Support Services offers academic advising, tutoring, career advisement, counseling and programming through the NCAA Champs Life Skills. The staff will be available to help create a working balance between your sport, your school work and your role in the community.
The Stuart Goldstein Student-Athlete Development Center opened in October of 2006. The 6,000-square foot facility is located off the Pritchard Gymnasium adjacent to the Sports Complex atrium, and accommodates over 400 student-athletes in a space that features a state-of-the-art computer lab, a study hall/multipurpose function room, a career resource/library area and a private tutor room. The Center will include administrative offices for the academic advising staff.
"The Department of Athletics is striving to instill a sports culture at Stony Brook that values and espouses family, team, a winning attitude, class, pride, high expectations and high accountability," said Director of Atheltics Jim Fiore. "The Center will be the first step toward providing a positive, meaningful educational experience for all Stony Brook student-athletes."
