Brandon Mitchell began at Stony Brook University as an assistant athletic trainer in July 2009. He works primarily with the women's soccer and men's basketball programs and assists all other student-athletes with their medical needs. Prior to arriving in Long Island, Mitchell was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for two years at Michigan State University while working towards his master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. He was responsible for assisting with the athletic training needs of all student athletes at Michigan State, while working primarily with Spartans football and baseball programs. Mitchell also served as an approved clinical instructor within MSU's undergraduate athletic training curriculum. Before attending Michigan State, Mitchell received his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Boston University in May 2007. While at BU, he served as an athletic training student at several area universities. At BU, Mitchell worked with the wrestling, women's lacrosse, and men's club rugby team. At Harvard University, he had the opportunity to work with the field hockey, wrestling, and men's volleyball team. During his final year, Mitchell served as the senior undergraduate student with football at Boston College. Mitchell is a native of Carmel, New York in Putnam County. He was certified by the Board of Certification in 2007. |
