Shannon Logan was named Assistant Director of Student Athlete Development in July 2010, after serving as an academic advisor. Shannon assists in the development of the advising, personal and career services as they relate to institutional and NCAA requirements. She has direct oversight for all academic affairs regarding the men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, men's and women's tennis and the men's and women's cross country/track and field programs. Since her arrival in July 2008, she has guided many of Stony Brook's teams and individuals to conference and national honors, including but not limited to SUNY Chancellor's Scholar-Athletes of the Year, America East Scholar-Athletes of the Year, and various coaches association all-academic teams. In addition to her role as an advisor, Shannon will serve as a representative for the Department of Athletics on University committees involving academic issues.

Prior to Stony Brook, Logan spent 2 years at her alma mater, Fairfield University. She served as a graduate assistant in the academic services department and the facilities and operations department at Fairfield University. Logan graduated from Fairfield University in 2006 with a bachelor's of science in economics and then again in 2008 with a master's in teaching and foundations. While at Fairfield, Logan played four years of softball. She was named to the MAAC All-Academic team in 2005 and 2006 and was a member of the All-MAAC second team and MAAC All-Tournament team in 2005.

A native of Baldwin, NY, Logan attended Baldwin High School where she lettered in soccer, basketball and softball. .
