Bill DeLongis was hired as the assistant coach for speed, strength and condition in November 2013. He works directly with volleyball, women's basketball, men's lacrosse and baseball and assists with football. A former Stony Brook speed, strength and conditioning intern himself, he also runs the internship program.
DeLongis most recently served as the strength and conditioning coach for all 10 sports at Converse College for three seasons. He previously worked at Infiniti Sports Performance in Bellport, N.Y.DeLongis also completed an internship at Velocity Sports Performance.
An NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), DeLongis is a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and a USAW sports performance coach. The Mount Sinai, N.Y., product earned his B.S. in physical education with a concentration in fitness and wellness from Winthrop. He is currently pursuing his master's degree at Converse.
DeLongis has competed in powerlifting and strongman through the North American Strongman Association. He also is a sports performance writer for STACK Media.
