#Seawolves Fans,

There were mixed results on the field last weekend, but Sunday was one exciting day at Stony Brook as the women's soccer team advanced to the America East Championship final on penalty kicks and the volleyball team came back from a five-point deficit in the deciding fifth set to beat Binghamton.

This week is jam-packed with #Seawolves action at home. The volleyball team will host Sacred Heart Tuesday, followed by the #Seawolves Basketball Tip-Off on Friday at Pritchard Gymnasium. The women's team will open vs. NJIT, and the men's team will take on Marist. Saturday, the football team will host Richmond at LaValle Stadium.

Football comes close but can't finish at Maine
The #Seawolves battled back from a 13-0 halftime deficit to take a 14-13 lead over Maine in the fourth quarter, but the Black Bears responded with a late touchdown to take a 19-14 victory. Signaling how strong CAA Football is as a conference, Stony Brook's last four conference games have all come against nationally ranked opponents.

Women's soccer advances to AE Final, looking to defend title
The #Seawolves and Maine played a thrilling America East semifinal on Sunday that went to penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw. Goalkeeper Ashley Castanio stonewalled the Black Bears, and Stony Brook went on to a 3-1 penalty kick victory. The #Seawolves will now defend their America East Championship title at UMBC Saturday night at 7 p.m. Watch the match live on AmericaEast.TV.

Burne wins America East Championship, teams place in top three
#Seawolves cross country enjoyed a strong showing at the America East Championship last Saturday at Binghamton. Senior Olivia Burne captured the individual title, the sixth Stony Brook runner to earn the crown. Her finish helped the women place second in the team standings. Volleyball splits on the weekend, in the hunt for first
After struggling against Albany Friday, the #Seawolves rebounded with a thrilling 3-2 win over Binghamton on Sunday. The team had fallen behind the Bearcats in the fifth set, 7-2, but rallied for a 15-12 win to take the match. The #Seawolves are in a tie with UMBC for second place, just one game behind first-place New Hampshire. Stony Brook will play Sacred Heart Tuesday at home, then play at UMass Lowell Friday and New Hampshire Sunday.

Men's soccer celebrates senior night

The #Seawolves honored outgoing seniors Shane Wixted, Will Casey, Carlos Villa and Glenn Whelan Saturday night at LaValle Stadium, but they were unable to come up with a favorable result, dropping a 1-0 overtime match to Vermont. The loss leaves Stony Brook with a must-win game at UMBC Wednesday to gain entry into the America East Championship. Read the recap here and watch the highlights below:



El-Amin drafted into NBA D-League
Former #Seawolves star and 2010 America East Player of the Year Muhammad El-Amin is headed west after being selected by the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the fourth round of the 2013 NBA D-League Draft. El-Amin will now continue his professional career with the Lakers minor league affiliate after three seasons overseas in Europe. Read the recap here.
